NORINCO Launches LD35, Armed with Cannon, Missiles and Laser
Chinese state defense company, NORINCO, has recently introduced the latest generation of mobile air defense system called LD35.
Designed to provide strong close-range air cover, this system combines 35 mm automatic cannon, air defense missiles, and laser weapons into an 8×8 armored platform.
LD35 functions as an autonomous, mobile, and all-weather air defense system, offering air defense for vital areas and mobile units.
This system is primarily intended to intercept various threats, including fixed-wing aircraft, armed helicopters, cruise missiles, and various unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). Especially those attacking from medium, low, and very low altitudes.
One of the main features of LD35 is an integrated weapon system consisting of one 35 mm AA automatic cannon and four anti-aircraft missile launchers.
Interestingly, the LD35 turret also has a laser weapon module. However, NORINCO did not explain its capabilities.
Then on the back of the turret there is a foldable 3D radar. This radar has a detection range of 18 km and a tracking range of 10 km.
